Just two weeks, yes only two, before Salem’s first and only dedicated cycling studio closes its doors.  We don’t know exactly what the future holds for JoyRide but what we do know is that we are still enjoying the ride and have planned several fun ride events to bring this chapter of the adventure to a close.  Check them out below and plan to join us as we celebrate what has been a great ride!!

Virtual Ride – Epic Wine Country – Wednesday, October 17th, 6-7:30 pm (ride is 70 minutes) This is a reprise of the first virtual ride we did last fall celebrating wine harvest season.  If we get a large number of sign ups, we’ll bring a bottle or two of wine for some “tastings” afterwards, so encourage your friends to join you.

Ride-In – Wednesday, October 24th – 5:45 – 7:45 pm – Ghostbusters Our final Ride-In has a “Halloween theme” so we invite you to ride in costume if you dare!  We have moved the day to Wednesday so as not to conflict with those who want to also attend our final ride on Saturday, Oct. 27th.  Come do a little riding and Ghostbusting with us!

2 Hour Challenge Ride – with Bob & Lorie! – Saturday, October 20th, 7:30 am Finally, by popular demand, there will be a 2 hour ride! Join Bob & Lorie and challenge your endurance for this opportunity to see if you have what it takes to go the distance. This ride will only cost one regular ride, so you are getting double the joy!!

JoyRide Finale Ride with Jeff & Lorie – followed by our “closing party” – Saturday, October 27th, 9:00 - 11:00 am Join Lorie and Jeff for a ride that will celebrate the what a wonderful adventure this has been.  Afterwards, stay for some refreshments and the opportunity to share your own JoyRide stories as well as exchange e-mails and phone numbers with the friends you’ve made so you can carry those new connections with you into the future.  JoyRide to us, has always been about more than simply riding for exercise, it has been about the connections and camaraderie, we hope you agree and will be sure not to miss this.  If bikes sell out, come for the after ride party which will start at 10!!

The final schedule for JoyRide Cycling Studio is now available on our online scheduling system.  There are 5 weeks left to enJOY the RIDE so be sure to sign up, use up your existing rides, and help us end this wonderful adventure on a high energy, positive note.

We’ve been hinting on facebook that there is a big change coming, and now its finally time to reveal what it is.  As of October 27th, JoyRide’s journey, as Salem’s first and only indoor cycling studio, will come to an end.

Where will our journey lead from there?  To be honest, we aren’t really sure yet, but we are confident that it will lead in a positive direction.  We believe that change, when done for the right reasons, leads to growth.  It wasn’t an easy decision by any means, but it is the necessary one and we trust that it is the right one for us at this time.

For now, however, we plan to continue focusing on what we always have, offering top quality indoor cycling classes.  It is our intent to  enJOY the RIDE all the way to the end!  We invite you to join us as we end this part of our journey on a positive note with some great Virtual Rides, Friday Night Ride-Ins, and even a few special theme rides to boot.  Please help us celebrate the great adventure that JoyRide has been by riding with us as often as possible!

Our sincerest thanks to all of you who have supported us, its been a pleasure and honor to serve you in your pursuit of living a healthy, joyful life.  We look forward to the opportunity to thank you personally, so please take advantage of the time that is left by helping us fill those seats to create a positive energy that will propel us onward to the next part of our journey!!

Thanks to all who participated and/or supported the JoyRide For Life Team.  If was our   first year participating in Relay for Life and it was a great experience!

JoyRide For Life’s original fundraising goal  $1500, but we are happy to report that we met that and made even more.  Our total raised by the end of the event was  $2337. This earned us the Rising Star Status and next year we are shooting for much more!

This year’s Relay for Life theme was “celebrating more birthdays” and that is something we support wholeheartedly both with our words, actions (we cycle in order to live longer, healthier lives), and our $$.   We thank all of you for your support and wish you many more birthdays do come!es even rode along!!

August 10th, JoyRide Cycling Studio will participate with other local businesses in Gallagher Fitness Resources’ monthly event, On Your Feet Friday.  JoyRide is proud to be manning the checkpoint at the future site of the proposed Riverfront to Minto Bridge (Eco Earth area).  This project is supported by Friends of Two Bridges (F2B), which is a non-profit group dedicated to the design and construction of the Minto Island Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge and connecting pathways.  Follow F2B on Facebook to to support them and see the progress they are making.
