Virtual Ride France Encore!

We were so honored that our Virtual Rides have been awarded first place as the Best Cycling Event in the Statesman Journal’s Best of MidValley contest, that we are celebrating by reprising last quarter’s Club Ride, a 60 minute “virtual” training ride through the beautiful French countryside. This workout is tailored for all fitness levels and is accompanied by motivating music and gorgeous scenery.

This special encore ride will take the place of one of our regularly scheduled classes, on Wednesday, May 23rd, at 6:30 pm.  As our special thanks to you it will be offered at our regular class pricing.  Please note since it is a mid week ride, there will be no sparkling wine, however there will be non-alcoholic beverages and some healthy after ride snacks for those who wish to stay and mingle with their fellow riders afterwards.

Take advantage of this opportunity to experience one of our Virtual Rides at regular class pricing by signing up today!

May is National Bike Month!

Get ready to celebrate what Nobel prize winner, William Saroyan called the “nobelest invention of mankind” the bicycle!  May is National Bike Month and we are celebrating at JoyRide, as we celebrate everyday the joys of riding, both indoors and out!

Watch this blog post and follow us on facebook and twitter all month as we post information to help you celebrate along with us.  We’ll be sharing information about local events, bicycle safety, resources for outdoor equipment, cycling training, inspirational bike stories and much more!

Why are we so passionate about the bicycle?  Because, we understand that cycling, in all its forms, is more than just a mode of transportation or a means to better fitness, its a metaphor for living.  Life is truly a journey and we are determined to enJOY the RIDE!  We hope you will join us!

Ride For A Cause: Reach The Beach Is Just Around The Corner

The American Lung Association mission is to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. You can help  by participating in their upcoming Reach the Beach Cycling Event or by donating in a rider’s name.

Reach the Beach is widely acknowledged as the official start of the Oregon cycling season and this popular ride has sold out for the past two years. Four different route options ensure the event has a little something for everyone – from experienced cyclists to those new to distance riding. Characterized by Oregon’s stunningly varied landscape, the ride proceeds from rolling wine country fields, through tiny towns, to the pounding surf and soaring dunes of Cape Kiwanda where a finish line beach party awaits.  The ride is limited to 3,000 riders and it will sell out – sign up early and tell your friends so you don’t miss out!

If you are interested in joining some other JoyRiders for this event, contact us for more information.  Whether you ride on your own or with fellow JoyRiders we encourage you to support this worthy cause. Everyone deserves to breathe freely!

Spring Means Renewal

Spring is a time of renewal… making things new…  With each Spring comes a chance to start something new; to start yourself anew, to try new things.

As I look around at the new flowers, the new animal babies, the new growth all around me, I find new hope in these things. And as I start to awaken, as the plants and animals do at this time of year, from their “winter slumber” I think to myself, what do I want to accomplish, what projects do I want to put on the proverbial front burner? How do I want to feel?

Spring offers  the chance to “reset ourselves”  So, if you made New Years’ fitness resolutions that now seem like a distant memory, remember that it is never too late to begin working on whatever it is that will bring you more joy in your life.  You can “reset” anytime you choose!  We invite you to ’renew and reset’ your fitness routine by joining us for a ride. No need to wait till the ‘planets align’ because we can help you get started today, no matter your fitness level, no experience necessary, no guilt, no kidding!  Sign up today!
