Sharing the JOY – Our Riders Speak Up About JoyRide and Indoor Cycling

It goes without saying that we think everyone should try indoor cycling/Spinning classes and JoyRide Cycling Studio, but we don’t think you should take just our word for it, instead take a look at what some of our regular “JoyRiders” are saying!

Jacque Shellito – Retiree/Community Volunteer

What first brought you to JoyRide?

I had been walking 5 days a week for an hour and a half each day and I wanted to change up my exercise routine to jump start weight loss.

Have the classes at JoyRide impacted your life in anyway?

Absolutely!  I loved indoor cycling the  first day I tried it.  It helped me lose 28 pounds in 5 months and it is helping me keep it off.

What do you like most about  the indoor cycling classes at JoyRide?

The friendliness, enthusiasm and encouragement from the instructors.  I also really like the music.  It helps cycling to the beat.

Was there anything that surprised you about your experience at JoyRide?

“JoyRide is a great experience……from the easy to use online bike reservations, the excellent motivation from both Jeff and Lorie (which makes me push myself), to the fun interaction between all the people in the class, whether friends or strangers.  This is my second month going there and it is amazing how much better and stronger I feel already.  Thanks JoyRide!”

“I needed to get off my butt and do some exercise.  I found out about JoyRide and immediately signed up for a class.  I love spinning.  I used to ride five to six times a week.  Very addicted.  The sign up at the gym I went to was very competitive and sometimes you didn’t get a bike or people fought over bikes (no kidding).  I love JoyRide’s sign up process – you are assured a bike.”

“The classes are high energy and some of the best I’ve ever taken.  Lorie, Jeff, and Brew are very friendly and there is no need to feel embarassed if you are out of shape and can’t keep up with everything going on in the class.  Just do your best and your own thing.  You will find that this is simply the best way to grow stronger with each class.”

“I love to run and, because of that, found myself in a fitness rut from just running most of the time. Even doing extra miles or running harder didn’t seem to add any new value to my fitness routine. When I heard JoyRide was coming to town, I decided it was time to give something other than running a try. I’m so glad I did! The indoor cycling classes, my first time trying them, have added just the spice to my exercise life that I was looking for. I love the challenge of using different muscles, climbing hills (even indoor ones), and the music is fabulous. I didn’t know that something could give me the same smile on my face that running does; JoyRide classes leave me grinning and singing and happy.”

“Lorie and Jeff do a great job of motivating riders to go that extra mile, to push a bit harder, while also encouraging gentleness to self and honoring one’s intuition of what their body needs and how they are feeling that day. It’s a perfect mix of challenge and self-kindness while exercising. If you are looking for something new or even a new place to ride, give JoyRide a whirl, I highly recommend it.”

“Joyride was a life saver for me. I am at an age where an injury can cause a person to give up outdoor pursuits, so after knee surgery I was at a decision point: do I quit, or find an activity I can enjoy again? I remembered years of joy biking around the countryside but wasn’t sure I could handle it anymore, so I signed up at JoyRide to find out. Even though the first tries were a little uncomfortable physically they were so much fun I came back and soon was in good riding form again. I’m riding outdoors again and loving it. Thank you JoyRide!”
